This month’s meeting is on Saturday, April 21 and will be in two parts.
10:00AM – Spring Garden Clean-up
Part one will be a Spring cleanup of the LIDS Display Garden at Planting Fields. For those of you who can help with this task, please meet at the Display Garden, located behind the main greenhouse at 10AM. Please bring all your own tools, rakes, claws, clippers, kneeling pads, and buckets for weeds and leaves. The garden beds are in need of work so if you can give your help, it will be greatly appreciated. Lunch will be served around noon for all workers.
Just before the presentation there will be a quick mini auction of plants donated by Rich Howard. The proceeds of this will go toward funding the 2019 Regional.
1:15PM – Greenhouse – Speaker Dan Pessoni, MA
Our speaker will be Dan Pessoni of East Orleans, Cape Cod, MA. Dan’s presentation will be a “History of Daylilies and a Walk Through Driftwood Gardens.” Dan has a beautiful expansive garden! He has more than 800 varieties of daylilies and is know as the “Lily Man.” He also has over 250 hostas, 30-50 hydrangeas, and many companion perennials. It is sure to be a wonderful presentation! Donations to our dessert table are always appreciated.

LIDS is affiliated with the American Hemerocallis Society, the national organization for daylilies. To learn more about AHS, view the video at the link below.
